If you're just starting out your SEO efforts, or simply looking to achieve better results, it can feel overwhelming to determine the next best steps. Many lament the task of focusing on on-site or off-site tactics, and are looking for factual evidence as to exactly what each focus means, and the real-world results they can manifest.

How to Attract Customers with Facebook

Rather than fret about keeping up with Google and Bing's ever-changing algorithms, do yourself a favor and first just focus on creating a first-class website. This, in essence, is the secret to stellar on-site SEO. It's also the secret to creating high conversion rates, great customer loyalty, and impressive analytics.

SEO, however, is more than just a well-performing website. To determine which long-term strategy best suits your company's needs, it's first necessary to understand what methods to employ, and how best to execute each.

What Is On-Site and Off-Site SEO?
Specifically, when we speak of on-site SEO, we are talking about all the little details your website contains that communicates exactly who and what you are to search engines. Here is a detailed list of what that entails:

• All your website content - pages, blogs, articles, etc.
• Title tags, meta tags, and H1 tags
• Your user interface, layout, and all aspects of design
• Alt text for your images
• The keywords you use, and their usage density (do not assume more is better!)
• How fresh, unique, and current your content is
• The time it takes for your website to load
• URL structure, and whether or not the URLs contain your keywords

Google Launches Redesigned Logo, New App Launcher

By Jennifer Cowan (c) 2013

Google has jumped on the redesign bandwagon, following the lead of rivals Yahoo and Bing by introducing a "refined" logo and a new app launcher. Yahoo has been in redesign mode for several months with changes to its homepage, search and most recently, its logo. Microsoft's Bing revamped search this month with the promise of more features to come. Not to be out done, Google has debuted a logo with a flatter, tighter look - a change that, in truth, is barely noticeable. Eddie Kessler, technical lead at Google said in a blog post that Google had "refined the color palette and letter shapes of the Google logo. We'll be rolling out this update across most Google products…

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer Admits Mobile Mistakes

By Jennifer Cowan (c) 2013

Outgoing CEO Steve Ballmer was brutally honest, yet strangely upbeat, at Microsoft's financial analysts meeting Thursday, admitting that the software giant has allowed the booming mobile market to pass it by. "Mobile devices, we have almost no share," Ballmer said during his speech. "I don't know whether to say that with enthusiasm or kind of uncomfortable tension, but I'm an optimistic guy. Anything we have low market share sounds like upside possibilities to me." Despite his buoyant attitude, Ballmer did say during a Q&A session that he regretted decisions made early in his reign as CEO. "If there's one thing I guess you would say I regret, I regret that there was a period in the early…

By Orad Elkayam (c) 2013

Understanding the power of the Internet and its influence on marketing strategy is the first step toward the realization of the importance and requisiteness of website translation to reach not just the native language market but the global market as well. In today's world, most people are using the Internet to find information and gain access to resources they both normally cannot access or would require some travel and effort to acquire.
