A recent update gives users the ability to create up to 1,000 lists on Twitter, a considerable leap from the previous limit of 20, Twitter announced in a tweet. Those lists can now include 5,000 accounts, up from 500. Twitter launched its lists feature - which allows members to curate groups of Twitter users - in 2009. The feature allows users to organize followers and keep track of people they follow. Members also can create their own lists or subscribe to lists created by other Twitter users.
